Terms & Conditions.
1. General: In signing up to coaching classes at St Albans Football Academy, and/or by making a payment for enrolment, you accept the terms and conditions as detailed below, which may be amended without notice. Your child is expected to follow the basic guidelines regarding dress code and behaviour whilst attending coaching sessions.
2. Dress Code: All students must wear astro-turf trainers or sports trainers. (Metal studded boots are NOT allowed. Shin guards are required from Year 1.
3. Training Kit: A training kit is included in the registration fee.
4. Behaviour Policy & Action Management: The Academy aims to provide a safe & positive environment for children to participate in sports activities. Minor infringements will be dealt with by staff. Swearing, bullying, aggressive behaviour, violence or verbal abuse, or damage to property is deemed as unacceptable behaviour and preventative action will be taken by the coaching team by way of a temporary suspension or total ban. No refunds will be offered. All infringements and actions are recorded as part of our child protection & safeguarding policy.
5. St Albans Football Academy does not accept liability for personal injury howsoever caused, nor for loss or damage to any property belonging to parents, carers or on-lookers. St Albans Football Academy do not accept any responsibility whatsoever for financial losses due to non attendance of coaching lessons.
6. All children involved in his/hers designated coaching session OR who is under the direct supervision of the coaching teams atboth academies, during the child’s designated class, are covered by our PL insurance policy. Exceptions: If, during a child’s coaching lesson he/she decides to leave the group to be with his/hers parent, then full responsibility for the child’s safety reverts to the parent/s or guardian/s. Parents and children are not covered by the St Albans Football Academy insurance policy, prior to the child’s designated coaching lesson OR after the lesson has finished and the child has returned to his/her parent/carer.
Health & Safety: For Health and Safety reasons, any child attending
St Albans Football Academy as a participant or spectator, are strictly forbidden use any facilities or apparatus at St Columba’s College, aside from use of the designated toilets. Under no circumstances must a parent/carer allow their child or a child under their supervision, to use to school apparatus while on the schools’s premises. apparatus maybe faulty or due to be repaired and therefore could be extremely dangerous. Any child using these apparatus maybe suspended from future classes. St Albans Football Academy insurance policy does not cover injury from use of these apparatus and we do not accept any responsibility whatsoever should a child injure themselves from using these apparatus unknown to academy staff.
Heath & Safety cont…
Parents are not allowed onto the outdoor astro pitches during summer term and must spectate from outside the fencing. A member of the coaching team will greet your child on arrival and guide them to their designated coaching group.
6. Class Fees:
2026: The annual membership fee which is paid monthly, has been calculated across a 12 equal monthly payments. This includes the month of August where no classes are scheduled.
Failure to pay for the month of August 2024, (where no classes are scheduled) will mean your child will not be able to return in September until August payment has been made. PLEASE ALSO NOTE: To minimise the monthly cost, payments have been spread across 12 monthly payments - if you decide to take a month or two break and stop your direct debit, the months missed will be outstanding should your child return to the academy within a 6 month period.
Direct Debit Payments
Please be aware that we do not offer refunds under any circumstances. This includes instances where parents/carers have mistakenly set up 2 direct debits for the same child OR you’re child has left the academy and you have forgotten to cancel your monthly direct debit.
Late or forgotten sign-ups
Should you forget to sign-up on the monthly direct debit payment system after 22nd of the month, there will be a £25.00 admin charge.

Nursery, Reception, Year 1, Year 2&3 groups, there are a total of 39 Saturday classes scheduled in 2026. Year 4 & 5 students have optional mid-week coaching held 6pm - 7pm on Wednesday evenings during summer term. There is no additional charge for the extra coaching session.
7. Participants who cannot attend a coaching session or training days due to injury, illness or for any other reason will NOT be entitled to any refund or any form of compensation. Depending on the severity and/or nature of an injury/illness, exceptional circumstances may apply. Please speak to the head coach.
8A. Bookings are only secured when the registration fee is paid and the monthly DDI has been set up and confirmed by a member of staff.
8B. Cancellations: Children who have joined the academy between 1st July 2022 - June 2025 are required to give a minimum of 1 month’s payment notice. This means that your direct debit will cease after your next monthly payment. Your child will still be able to attend classes during the notice period. Please give notification of leaving in writing or via text message.
8C. Cancellations: There is no notice period should you decide to take your child or a child under your supervision, out of the academy.
9. Weather Conditions: British weather is unpredictable throughout the season, therefore no concession or refund will be made for heavy or persistent rain, sleet, snow or any other poor weather conditions which may result in coaching sessions being cancelled for the health & safety and well-being of the students.
10. The participants’ parent(s)/guardian(s) consent to the use of photography which may be used for internal as well as external academy promotions.
11. Medical: It is the responsibility of you the parent/carer to inform a member of the coaching team of any recent injuries OR on-going medical conditions or allergies.
Should your child have a medical condition, injury, illness or allergy, please speak to a member of staff prior to joining. This also applies at any time whilst your child’s is attending the academy.
Parents/carers must inform the Academy should their child or any child under their care, requires or may require, medication during the coaching session. Any medication required during lessons, are the sole responsibility of the parent who must be on-hand at all times during the lesson, in case their child requires their medication. Please discuss this with a member of the coaching team PRIOR to booking.
12. First Aid - will be applied on site by a member of staff who is 1st Aid qualified through the FA. This may also be supported by external fully trained personnel applying 1st aid for minor incidents or in the case of emergencies.
13. Please ensure any changes of address or contact details that occur after a booking has been made are made known to St Albans Football Academy coaching staff.
14A. Coaching and it’s staff are not responsible for participants safety PRIOR to commencement of a lesson OR AFTER a lesson has finished, parents take full responsibility of their child’s safety on the school grounds including the car parks. Children are forbidden to use school equipment on the school site.
14B. St Albans Football Academy and it’s staff are not responsible for the safety and/or care of any child who is present either as a spectator or waiting with their family prior to or after their designated class.
15. St Albans Football Academy have an Anti-Bullying Policy. Children must listen and follow instruction from the academy’s coaching staff. No child must endanger the safety of another or compromise the safety of others by distracting behaviour OR act in a way that it disrupts the coaching group.
16. Coach to player ratios: As a coaching provider, we aim to employ adequate coaching staff for each group to ensure every child is engaged in their coaching session. When coaches are unable to attend through sickness or sudden emergency, this may result in fewer coaches per coaching group. In these circumstances, lessons will continue to be structured and organised in a safe manner.
